I think the key thing to keep in mind is that while infinite block on the right turn is obviously stupidly powerful, it's probably more useful to think of Apparitions as tools that can be used to either avoid taking massive damage, or more commonly, to buy you time to set up whatever broken combo your deck can bring out that you'd otherwise be taking chip damage to do. Like everything, it's not always optimal though. Overall, it's quite often single-handedly a run winner, so I look hard for a reason to take this event. Often likes this because the Defect can often get to a point where it is essentially invincible once set-up but is taking lots of chip damage while getting set up in the first place. ![]() Silent actually has really strong ] damage potential with poison and ] if she has the energy to get it going, so often fights can end really quickly. Silent has Wraith Form which can extend the duration of her invulnerability ] and the ability to upgrade a couple of the Apparitions is strong for similar to reasons why Well-Laid Plans and ] is strong She doesn't have huge block abilities and so alternative means to reduce damage is excellent ] and upgraded Apparitions break the game If I'm in a situation where I have low health with no means of recovery nearby, it can be a lifesaver I don't always take it, but I often do, like almost everything in the spire, it's situational.
